The upcycled Kitenge African wax print fabric is upcycled from production offcuts (deadstock) of our bathrobe line made from Kitenge African wax print. It's Threads way of helping our beautiful planet by keeping perfectly good fabric from ending up in landfills. The authentic, high-quality, brightly-colored Kitenge/Ankara fabric is printed in Nigeria, West Africa, using locally-grown 100% cotton and sourced from small female-owned enterprises in Tanzania. By purchasing one of our bow ties, you’re helping to empower Tanzanian tailors to improve their livelihoods as well as supporting Nigerian cotton farmers, small businesses in Tanzania, and the African textile industry. With each purchase, Threads donates 10% to The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund in support of their efforts in protecting the endangered mountain gorillas found only in the Virunga mountains in Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
